Alexandra Dawn Wong aka Ali Wong has a midas touch. The American comedian has three hit Netflix specials Baby Cobra (2016), Hard Knock Wife (2018), and Don Wong (2022).

The 41-year-old celebrity started venturing into romantic comedy in 2019 where she starred in Always Be My Maybe, along with taking part in the writing and production of the project. Her next success came with A24’s dark comedy series Beef (2023) which won her a Golden Globe Award.

Ali Wong did not leave the Golden Globes 2024 ceremony empty-handed. The TV star won big for her latest performance in Beef, as she snagged the Best Actress – Miniseries or Television Film award. The comedian seemed over the moon with her win as she planted a kiss on her current boyfriend Bill Hader when her name was announced.

In the speech, Ali kept it simple.

She said: “I really need to thank the father of my children and my best friend Justin for all of your love and support. It’s because of you that I’m able to be a working mother.”

Later, Ali explained her stance in an interview saying: “Yeah that’s right, I like to keep it peaceful and grateful and amicable.”

Before falling for Barry star Bill Hader, Ali Wong had her own meet-cute with entrepreneur Justin Hakuta. The artist met him at a friend’s wedding reception in 2010. After a few of years of dating, the celebrity couple said “I do” on November 27, 2014.

After eight years of marital bliss, the pair announced their split in 2022. A source close to the duo offered: “It’s amicable and they will continue to co-parent lovingly,” People reported.

Ali and Justin share two beautiful daughters, Mari, born in 2015, and Nikki, born in 2017. The comedian once talked about bringing her kids to her comedy tours, saying it was a “beautiful” experience.

“Taking kids on the road is so beautiful. It’s the opposite of film and television where I’m just gone all day,” she explained.

“It’s a really fun family adventure because basically at night I’m performing, and then during the day, we go on adventures to the children’s museum or the gardens or we see family friends. It’s really cool that they’ve seen so much of America.”
