Britney Spears‘ The Notebook audition has finally been released after almost 20 years since the movie came out. The classic film has captured hearts over the past two decades, and it may be hard to visualize anyone else in the role. But Britney Spears’ audition tape showed she came in to slay that day, including breaking down in tears during the reading.
Before the release of her highly-anticipated memoir The Woman in Me, Britney Spears’ acting abilities once again came to fans’ attention as her audition for the classic film was shared. It had been known that she put herself forward for the romantic flick, but the part later went to Rachel McAdams. In a newly-released video, we see Britney Spears bring her all to the audition opposite Hollywood heartthrob Ryan Gosling.

“I couldn’t bear the thought of you being with somebody else or… us never seeing each other again, so I gotta go,” she says through tears.
Fans have been sharing their two cents about the music star potentially starring in the film, which was once voted as ‘the best movie of all time’.
However, the role went to celebrity actress McAdams and others weren’t so convinced Britney deserved the part.
One person penned: “Love madam Spears down and she looked adorable but Rachel McAdams was just born for the role [crying face emoji]”
Another said: “Let me say I adore my girl Britney [heart hands emoji]. However, there is no Notebook without Rachel & Ryan such a well casted film”
A third was rather harsh, writing: “No wonder she got rejected.”
A book full of revelations
In her bombshell memoir, the Princess of Pop discusses how the celebrity couple of the 2000s parted ways. She spoke of how the former NSYNC singer Justin Timberlake broke up with her… over text!
In the two-worded message, he told her: “It’s over!!!” and sent the message while she was filming the music video for her song Overprotected.
Chris Applebaum, who directed the video, said that Britney “went missing” that day on set. He found her in her trailer, devastated. But he convinced the singer to finish shooting to show Justin “he made the biggest mistake of his life.”
“At some point during the 2nd shift, Brit disappeared, and I went to her trailer to fetch her,” he wrote last year.
“Only to discover her BF Justin had just broken up with her via text message. (Let me recommend to any who reads this: don’t break up via text!)”
